We offer a packed timetable of weekly dance classes and dance courses in a wide range of styles including: tap dancing, pole dancing, urban funk, commercial jazz, street dance, zumba, flamenco, children’s classes and many more!

DSL Youth Dance Programme for 13-19yrs.
These classes will be focusing on a variety of styles including: Jazz, Musical Theatre and Commercial Street, to help develop them as versatile dancers.
The classes will work on technique, flexibility, strength, stamina, pick up speed, and performance skills.
Guest teachers will deliver adhoc masterclasses to allow the dancers the chance to train with other industry professionals and try new styles including contemporary, break dancing, house, street, commercial jazz, musical theatre and more!
The dancers will also be given the opportunity to perform and enter competitions and events. Previous performances include: Fashion Shows, Miss Leeds 2011 Final, Breeze, Leeds Festival Fringe on Briggate, Leeds Rocks, Drive in Movie events, Yelp Exchange at the Corn Exchange, HeadingOut’s Children in Need Dance Competition, and Born to Shine Roadshow with members of Diversity.

Suitable for all ages, these classes will cover the basics and help build upon your technique and vocabulary of steps. Classes will include a mixture of technical exercises and fun simple routines using a wide range of musical styles from the traditional to the latest pop tracks!

About:
This class is suitable for all ages of dancers who have studied tap previously to an intermediate level or above. We mix technical exercises with routines incorporating different styles of dance to a wide variety of music from the latest pop track to a musical theatre classic. All our classes are free work and include steps such as: wings, pick ups, cramp rolls, rattles, pull backs, paddles, riffs and close work. So if you fancy some toe tapping rhythms this is the class for you!
Instructor:
Katie is a qualified IDTA and ISTD instructor and has taught for numerous organisations within the educational sectors including Leeds University. A trained professional dancer she graduated with a Distinction and ‘Dancer of the Year Award’ at the Midland’s Academy of Dance and Drama 2006, and since has worked as a freelance performer and teacher all over the UK.

This class is aimed at dancers who want to challenge and push themselves within the commercial dance style and/or who are looking to pursue careers within this field. New routines are taught every week incorporating different styles and the latest commercial dance moves and choreography. This open class is perfect for Professional dancers, ex dancers and dancers looking to get into the industry and further their potential.
Stuart Hayes
Stuart’s talents have taken him all over the world during his time as a dancer having worked for the likes of Kylie Minogue, Cher, Spice Girls, Diana Ross, Jamelia, The Wanted and recently Danni Minogue whom he was Dance Captain and is now assistant choreographer to. His invaluable experience spans from live TV shows, to concerts to music videos and more! Currently he is working as assistant choreographer to The Saturdays and helping produce shows such as BBC’s Children in Need.
Stuart teaches all over the UK at vocational dance colleges (including Head of the Jazz Department at Masters Performing Arts College), and is a regular lecturer at seminars for the IDTA and ISTD.
