28 July 2010 Dance Studio welcomes the BBC The Dance Studio Leeds was very excited to welcome the BBC to the studio in July. Casting for a new BBC drama based on the lives of Morecambe and Wise, to be aired Christmas 2010, we had 56 budding young actors pass through our doors. Victoria Wood, CBE and a BAFTA award-winning British comedienne, actress, singer and writer was also present on the audition panel.

28 March 2010 1st Year Anniversary Open Day! The Dance Studio Leeds is celebrating its 1st Year Anniversary and you are all invited to join us!
It will be a chance for you to meet other clients, teachers and students at the studio and find out about any classes, news and events taking place.
Most importantly it will be a chance to enjoy some delicious cakes and for me to thank you all for your support over the last year! :)

12 September 2009 Dance Studio Leeds Launch (August 23rd 2009)
The Dance Studio Leeds is an exciting new studio that has opened just minutes from the city centre and offers the cheapest rates in town for studio hire. It offers a wide range of dance classes and workshops, as well as being used as a rehearsal space by a range of professional dance and theatre companies. And at these prices, its affordable for established companies like Red Ladder Theatre and emerging artists alike!
Sunday 23rd was the studio’s launch. With 7 dance workshops, half a dozen stalls and 7 performances, it was a really full day! There were workshops in everything from pole dancing to break dancing, to Aerobamartial arts fitness lead by dancer Denapoli Clarke (of RJC dance). At five the stalls and workshops finished and the studio became the stage for some great performances. This kicked off with Helena belly dancer….a stunning and accomplished performance of veils and isolations of every inch of her body! There were other interesting performances too, including YorkSher Panjab De…an athletic and original performance. There was slick choreography from the groups Element Dance and the Relentless Crew and then there were the breakdancers! What can I say? Some of those moves just had to be seen to be believed! The launch finished off with a live band set from Chichino, and if that wasn’t enough, there was a raffle and refreshments- not bad for a Sunday afternoon!
The whole day had a real community feel and I think it's an exciting development for the dance scene in Leeds.
