Freshly Brewed

Following the success of our first ‘Freshly Brewed’ Event in June 2010, Sarah Shead (Projects Co-ordinator, Yorkshire Dance/Independent Dance Manager) and I, are looking to organise our next social morning for the early Autumn. ‘Freshly Brewed’ was formed as we both appreciate that working freelance can often be isolating. We hope to help eradicate those feelings and encourage future collaborations with this event:

‘Freshly brewed is a fun, friendly social event for dancers, artists, teachers, and organisations from all backgrounds to meet face to face with a hot drink and biscuit in hand. This unique relaxed environment is the perfect place to meet and network with local dance enthusiasts, catch up with peers as well as share ideas, plans and opportunities. Whether you are from a commercial or contemporary dance background this free event is open to all, from undergraduates to established professionals.’

The date of our next ‘Freshly Brewed’ event will be announced shortly.....

Billy Elliot the Musical: Auditions

Billy Elliot The Musical – will be holding their auditions at The Dance
Studio Leeds on Saturday 6th March 2010.
They are auditioning for the roles of Billy and Michael for the West End Production.
You must be 9-13yrs, max height 5ft, no broken voices, tap and ballet
experience a bonus.

Registration is at 9am and be prepared to stay all day if required.

Petite Productions Regional Auditions

Petite Productions will be holding their regional auditions at The Dance Studio Leeds.

Registration 11.30am to start at 12 noon.

Please wear jazz shoes/trainers and tight fitting dance wear.
Bring CV and picture.

There will be a timetable with all the classes on it, comments box,
information on all the class styles running at the studio, class/course sign up sheets (chance for people to request to be contacted by the instructors for more information etc).



Sunday 23rd August 12noon onwards
The Dance Studio Leeds - Official Launch Party!!!
In aid of the NSPCC. From 12 noon onwards there will be taster workshops from the teachers
currently running classes at the studio.

These will be 30 min classes which we are asking for a minimum £1 donation
if you want to take part. Spaces will be limited so it will be a first come first
served basis on the day.

From 5pm there will be performances from local theatre and dance groups
(both professional and community groups)..Details on exact running times will
be up shortly.

The Leeds Fashion Show Team will also be present, model scouting
for their 2009 show!

We will also have some dancewear specialists selling their products, and
local artists with art and craft stalls.

Refreshments will be available and we will be holding raffles and other fun stalls.
