Pauline Mayers
Since completing her training at the Rambert School, Pauline has worked extensively as a dancer and teacher in Bullies Ballerina, Janet Smith and Dancers and Diversions Dance where she had the privilege of working with the American choreographer Bill T. Jones. Moving to Leeds in 1999 she joined Phoenix Dance as dancer and teacher, an association spanning 10 years. Pauline has danced for Opera North, The Ensemble Group and RODA. Pauline began a successful partnership with the founder of Phoenix Dance Theatre, David Hamilton and Regeyeshun Dance leading to two productions at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, played Desdemona in Patrice Naimbana’s theatre production of William Shakespeare’s Othello in conjunction with the Royal Shakespeare Company and has lectured in Developing Dance Techniques at York St. John University.
